Movie Review of “Kung Fu Panda”

I checked this movie out recently at the local cheap seat theater for $2 with the family and I was thoroughly delighted with this movie. It gets an “A” from me, which is a rare thing.

Spoiler Alert:

It is a perfect picture of God’s truth to confound the proud and wise through the simple and nothingness of this world. Po, the unlikely Panda turned hero from a noodle house, defeats Tai Lung, a well-trained fighting machine. Pride comes before a fall and the humble Po defeats the prideful Tai Lung. There were lots of great moral lessons in this movie in addition to what has been mentioned:

1. It was prophesied that Tai lung would soon return to seek vengeance…parallels Satan’s unloosening to wreak havoc.

2. It was also prophesied that a “Dragon Warrior” would emerge to defeat the adversary…Jesus will destroy Satan.

3. Po is selected as the “Dragon Warrior” even though he is a noodle house employee, untrained and doesn’t fit the profile….God chooses unlikely candidates. Jesus was born into scandal, considered an illegitimate child, and grew up in Nazareth. Can anything good from Nazareth? Can a Kung Fu legend emerge from a noodle house?

All in all, this flick had great themes of predestination, good triumphing over evil, humility being exalted, pride being deflated, humor, action, and topped off with Carl Douglas’ song “Everybody was Kung Fu Fighting” at the very end. What more can you ask for in a flick?
