Recent Hogaboam Outings

Posted: October 12, 2008 by Rick Hogaboam in Hogaboam family

Well, our family has been blessed in the past couple weeks to be able to get out and spend some time together. Here are some pics:

Camping in our backyard because I am too scared to go into the woods

At the Boise Zoo, chillin’ with the penguins

Just a pic of my beautiful daughter Lexi sitting at the Zoo in front of a vacant exhibit

The girls riding a zoo-themed carousel…something PETA would like to outlaw.

Hiking in beautiful Boise

Picture of the Idaho Capitol Building in Boise from our hike

Wow, we climbed high

Back down at ground level

I love the family pictures. 🙂 I also wanted to encourage you to not be scared of the woods. Try camping (maybe next year, it’s getting too cold now!) with another family that’s been in that area before. You’ll have fun!

  2. Pastor Rick,

That’s great that you were able to get out and explore your new state! Camping can be fun, the backyard is good also but you might try a spot just for a night one time. I’m sure Idaho has some good state parks you could check out.

Here in Oregon there are many camping places in and out of the State Parks. If they have it in your area, you might check out an YURT. These are a great way to go and you don’t have to lug around a tent. They are year-round seasonal camping structures that have basic accommodations as well as electricity and a heater, too! We’ve done that several times and really enjoyed it. We’ve also gone many times with our 3 room cabin tent which can be great but can also be cold. The YURTS or even a cabin may be a better way to go for even the convenience of not having to pack as much. Any how, again, I’m glad you were able to get some much needed R and R with your family!

    God Bless,
    rk

  3. I will eventually evolve into a “real” camper…thanks for the encouragement.
