“Amazing Grace” Movie Review

Just saw the movie and was touched by it (as I should be). Wilberforce was a one of a kind. The word “Maverick” is getting played out during the presidential campaign and I must saw that Wilberforce was the supreme Maverick. His relentless pursuit for justice in England and abroad was eventually rewarded. Praise God.

I was definitely stirred with anger at how many of his colleagues would fail to support the cause of slaves because they were looking out for special interests. Unfortunately money was and is a way of suppressing justice and numbing the conscience of those in power. The interests of Wilberforce were the interests of God and the welfare of the kingdom. He epitomized what it truly meant to be a servant of God and the people. Only that God would raise up more folks of Wilberforce’s stature.

I also really enjoyed this movie. The scene with everyone at the dinner table was so powerful!
