Saul-Paul, the Executor and Prosecutor of Covenant

Posted: June 15, 2010 by Rick Hogaboam in Biblical Studies

Saul was an executor of the Mosaic covenant, prosecuting all enemies, thus persecuting the Church with physical force.

God called Saul to a new mission.

Paul was now an executor of the New Covenant, prosecuting all enemies, ironically those like his former self who thought themselves executors of the Mosaic Covenant.  He prosecutes New Covenant enemies through the force of His ministry and words.

Have you seen these articles from JPT? It revolutionized my view of the covenant in the NT.

    • Dr. Ruthven, it’s an honor that you even read my blog, let alone leave a comment. I haven’t stayed current with the JPT. Did you intend to leave a link? I would love to check it out. I did see that you wrote a couple articles on Isaiah 59 and Covenant… is that what you’re referring to?
